The TVS BMW G310R India launch

Rumours have been flying around for months now about the G310R BMW powered mini superbike, which is a collaboration between BMW and Indian firm TVS. The mini-superbike is set to be launched in India and Indonesia, and if speculations are correct, the motorcycle could be with dealers as early as March.

The motorcycle is set to be produced by TVS and BMW will provide the appropriate technology, including utilising BMW’s engine and chassis. In addition, the price of a sub-500cc BMW G310R is £4,290 which is approximately Rs 3.88 lakh in India.

However, the motorcycle will be sold in India without export charge, making it slightly cheaper to purchase priced between Rs 2.0 lakh – Rs 2.75 lakh. Furthermore, the bike is also offered with ABS and in non-ABS with slightly varied pricing.

Moreover, the bike is set to produce 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 28 NM at 7,500 rpm. The Indian market will also gain some additional features, including a large radiator grille, a single projector headlight, back to front cylinder setup, a side mount exhaust and a TVS Draken concept-inspired fuel tank and headlamp cluster.
