The new BMW S1000R Sport
Since the BMW S1000R Sport was officially launched in Spain at the start of the week, and many lucky journalists got to test out bike, we thought we would remind you of some of the new features and specifications expected from the new model.
So, the 2017 model has received an updated chassis, a slight weight reduction by 2kg, and has gained euro 4 homologation due to a new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system which reduces both noise and emissions.
In addition, the bike now delivers an output of 165 hp at 11,000 rpm, as well as now offering the HP Shift Assistant Pro which allows quick shifting without a clutch. Moreover, those who like to ride long distance can benefit from vibration free handlebars, which was a complaint that was made by numerous owners of the previous model.
Also, the Riding Modes Pro package has been updated to include the optional ABS Pro, revised fairing design, and an enhanced instrument cluster.
Prices for the new model start from £10,705 and the bike is available in three colour options – Catalano Grey, Light White/ Lupin Blue Metallic/ Racing Red/ or Racing Red/Blackstorm Metallic.
