The new AGV Pista GP R helmet

The new 2017 AGV Pista GP R helmet is 100% on our purchase list for this year. Now, I know you might be thinking it’s a little pricey at £899.99. However, it’s justifiable. We think.

The new helmet is available in 6 different versions, but our favourite has to be the Gloss Carbon. As most of you will know, the Pista GP helmets are the ones worn by MotoGP riders, meaning they are, according to AGV, the best protective helmets ever developed, which is why we think the price is justifiable.

Additionally, the helmets feature an all-new hydration system, metal air vents and a wind-tunnel tested biplane spoiler, which helps to enhance performance. Each of these features were MotoGP developed, which means stability is improved, even at high speeds. Moreover, the helmets shell is made from 100% carbon fibre, which means it will not interfere with a racing suit.

When it comes to the interior, the designers wanted to create a product that would provide the greatest comfort, whilst also delivering high levels of protection and durability. The interior, including cheek pads and crown pads are also removable for wash purposes.

The helmet includes a patented visor lock system which greatly reduces the risk of the helmet opening in the event of an accident, as well as including a much stronger and thicker visor which protects the face and eyes from damage.

Some of the versions available are the AGV Pista GP-R Project 46 Matt 2.0, Soleluna 2016, Ianonne 2016, Gran Pemio, Gloss Carbon and Matt Carbon.
