Moto 2: Danny Kent joins Speed Up for 2018
There has been plenty of news flying around recently with regards to 2018 rider line-ups, and we’re sure there’s plenty more to come over the next couple of weeks, so it’s a fight to impress for a new contract for many riders.
2015 Moto 3 World Champion Danny Kent can now rest his mind knowing that he will return to the Moto 2 World Championship in 2018 and 2019 after recently signing a new two-year contract with Speed Up in the middleweight class.
The Brit has been acting as a wildcard over the last few months since leaving the Kiefer Racing Team and has been stepping in for injured riders while they take time out to recover. This weekend is no different for Kent, as he will be replacing Marcel Schrotter from the Dynavolt Intact Team in the Moto2 Red Bull Ring round at the Austrian GP.
Danny Kent commented on his signing with Speed Up stating that:
“I’m really excited about this new opportunity with Speed Up and I can’t wait to get on the bike. I’d like to thank Luca and all the team for their belief in me, I’m working hard towards the end of season tests and already excited for 2018.”
