KTM reveal fuel injection for two-stroke motorcycles
Rumours have been flying around for a while now. However, we can now reveal that KTM will in fact be producing fuel injection for two-stroke motorcycles. It has been said that the fuel injection technology will be added to the KTM enduro lineup for 2018 which we will get to see at some point in May. The models which will receive the new technology are the KTM 300 EXC TPI and the KTM 250 EXC TPI and these will be made available to purchase all over the world.
There are many benefits the fuel injection for two-strokes can offer, including enhanced power and better fuel consumption, meaning it will no longer be necessary for some riders to pre-mix fuel. Additionally, due to these advantages, riders will gain an improved riding experience.
Jachim Sauer, the Product Marketing Manager for KTM has expressed his excitement about the new technology, stating:
“This is an incredibly exciting development for KTM. We have been developing two-stroke fuel injection for some time and our goal was to create competitive motorcycles with all the benefits of fuel injection, while fitting into our READY TO RACE mantra”.
“There has been extensive testing and considerations for our research and development team to take into account during this process, so we are very motivated by this next step and world-first technology, as we take a major step forward in this segment”.
