Guy Martin and John McGuinness test out the new Mugen
Last week, both Guy Martin and John McGuinness had their first chance to test out the new electric Mugen Shinden's that they will both ride at the Zero TT race at this year’s Isle of Man TT.
A full day of testing took place at the Sodegaura Forest Raceway in Japan to ensure that the duo would be happy with the way the machines would run, and also give the teammates the opportunity to point out any issues or changes for improvement.
The electric bikes are still relatively new for Martin who has only had the chance to ride one when filling in for an injured William Dunlop back in 2015, so he will be needing all the practice he can get. McGuinness missed out on the opportunity to get in a full day of testing due to the effects of a recently dislocated thumb, however has two electric bike TT wins to his name so will be feeling a little more confident.
So far, the duo has pointed out very little problems with the bike and seem to be happy with how the Mugen team are getting on with preparing the bikes for the big race. Nevertheless, there is still time for problems to arise.
