Guintoli makes a return to BSB
Sylvain Guintoli is set to make a comeback to MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in 2017, joining Taylor Mackenzie in the Hawk and Bennett’s Suzuki team.
Guintoli was crowned World Superbike Champion in 2014 and competed in the British Championship back in 2009 with the Suzuki team, so is very much excited to make a return. It has been said that Guintoli will be riding the GSX-R1000R for the Hawk and Bennett’s Suzuki team and is eager to test out the bike for the first time.
When questioned on his return to the British Championship, Guintoli stated “I’m really happy to be back with British Superbikes. Even though it was short, I enjoyed my time in the series in 2009 with Suzuki. I had a really good start to the season on the GSX-R1000, with a win and three more podiums in four races, and I feel like I have unfinished business after that year”.
It is clear that the Suzuki team are thrilled to have Guintoli back, as many have commented on his return. Team Suzuki’s manager, Steve Hicken has all the confidence that Sylvain will be a great contender, and when teamed with the GSX-R1000R and Taylor Mackenzie, there is hope that they will not disappoint.
We can’t wait for the season to get underway. If only we didn’t have so long to wait.
