EBR reveals Black Lightning
American motorcycle brand EBR have just released the first image of the new ‘Black Lightning’ which to our disappointment is more or less a revised version of the 1190SX but in black.
We were in fact hoping for the 1190AX adventure bike that has been promised by the brand. However, I guess we might need to wait until 2018 for that one.
EBR announced that when building the bike, their aim was to provide a bike which was ‘quick, dark and low’ and from what we can tell, they have quite possibly accomplished this. The new motorcycle is much more street focused with a water cooled, 1190-cc 72-degree twin engine which produces 185 hp and 101 ftlb of torque.
In addition to this, the motorcycle features a much lower seat and foot stand, as well as incorporating higher handlebars and lower gearing in order to enhance acceleration.
The first proper glimpse of the bike will be at this year’s International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach on the 18th November 2016 and the bike is expected to arrive in dealers at some point in Spring 2017.
